What happens when you bring a room full of SDA experts together? You turn confusion into clarity. That’s exactly what happened last week at The Beach House Hotel in Hervey Bay.
Accessible Homes Australia, together with SDA Services, hosted a free community event designed to help NDIS participants, families and providers navigate one of the trickiest parts of the scheme: Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA).
The session covered the key questions many people have:
- Who qualifies for SDA?
- How do you access SDA funding?
- What types of care models are available, and how does SDA type affect this?
We also talked all things Urraween Village, Hervey Bay’s newest independent SDA precinct on Main Street.
The event was led by:
- Perry Cross AM – Founder & CEO, Accessible Homes Australia
- Tom Ray – Managing Director, Accessible Homes Australia
- Brianna Barry GAICD – General Manager, Accessible Homes Australia
- Greg Barry – Founder and Principal Consultant, SDA Services
- Amanda Dodds – CEO, SDA Services
We’re so grateful to everyone who joined, especially those who shared their experiences and asked questions—it’s these conversations that make our community stronger.
